OAG Responds to OPA CCU Audit Findings

December 26, 2019, Tamuning, Guam- The Office of the Attorney General (OAG) responded to the audit released today by Public Auditor Benjamin ‘BJ’ Cruz and agreed that there appears to be irregularities with employee pay raises and bonuses and potential violations of Guam law.

In May, the OAG asked the Office of Public Accountability (OPA) to conduct an audit of raises given to unclassified employees by autonomous agencies. Last month, the OAG and OPA formally announced their collaborative effort to ensure that government agencies follow the rules when discussing and making decisions about employee compensation.

“We appreciate the ongoing partnership with the OPA and are confident that our continued work will ensure accountability and integrity in public service,” said Attorney General Leevin Taitano Camacho.
