If you or a loved one is a victim of crime, the Criminal Injuries Compensation Program can provide financial reimbursement for crime-related expenses to ease some of the financial burden you may face.

Victims have a right to be treated with dignity and respect throughout the criminal justice process.

Victims have a right to be immediately informed if the defendant has violated any restraining orders, stay away orders, terms of conditions of release or probation and if the defendant escapes from prison.

Victims have a right to receive protection from threats or harm.

Victims have a right to be provided protection from the defendant and his/her family members at all court proceedings.

Victims have a right to be notified of all scheduled court hearings such as jury trials, change of plea hearings, sentencing hearings, all major developments in the case, status of the case and to testify against the defendant at the hearing.

Victims have a right to be informed of any financial assistance and social services available and how to apply for such services.

Victims have a right to be informed if defendant is seeking parole and have the right to testify at the parole hearing; and if the defendant has violated parole conditions.

Victims have a right to be notified by the Office of the Governor of Guam if the defendant is requesting to be pardoned.

Our Victim Services Center will guide victims and their families through the criminal justice process.
