Jury finds Muki Callahan guilty of molesting minors

May 17, 2021- Tamuning, Guam- A jury found Muki Joseph Redhart Callahan guilty today of all charges against him for molesting two victims under the age of 10 beginning in 2011.

The case initially went before the trial court in 2013 and resulted in a conviction. The Supreme Court of Guam vacated the conviction on the grounds that Callahan’s due process rights to face his accusers were violated and remanded the case back to the trial court.

Chief Prosecutor J. Basil O’Mallan, prosecutor on the case, said, “The verdict marks a great day for the victims. They have waited in anguish all this time.”

“I thank the jury for their hard work. It’s not easy to listen to this type of testimony, but the jurors understood the important role they play and carried out their duty.”

The defendant is guilty of six counts of First Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct as a First Degree Felony, one additional charge of First Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct as a First Degree Felony, six counts of Second Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct as a First Degree Felony, and three additional charges of Second Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct as a First Degree Felony.

He will be sentenced before Judge Lamorena on July 28, 2021, and faces multiple life sentences
