Sex Offender Convicted; 15-Year Minimum Jail Time

Glenn Siguenza Santos was convicted late yesterday afternoon of First Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct and Second Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct, both as First-Degree Felonies.

At trial, the victim faced her offender and testified against him in open court.

“The criminal justice system is an enduring process for victims and their families. It’s never easy for a victim to undergo grueling cross-examination and anxiety that comes with facing their perpetrator. I’m thankful the jury stayed focused on the facts and rendered justice for the courageous teenager who overcame these obstacles,” said Prosecuting Attorney Sean Brown.

Despite the People’s request for immediate incarceration, the defendant remains released under third party custody until after his sentencing hearing. The defendant will be sentenced on August 02, 2019. He faces a mandatory minimum of 15 years in prison and a maximum of life imprisonment.
