Jury finds Joshua Palacios guilty of murder

February 08, 2021, Tamuning, Guam- Late last week Friday, a jury convicted Joshua Palacios for the murder of Keith Castro in July 2019.

Defendant Palacios was found guilty of Murder as a First Degree Felony with a Special Allegation for the Possession or Use of a Deadly Weapon in the Commission of a Felony attached.

Thomas Mark Taitano, who witnessed Palacios shoot and kill Castro, played an important role in The People’s case during trial.

Prosecuting Attorney Richelle Canto said, “Justice has been served today. The jury has spoken: The People of Guam will not tolerate senseless violence. Hopefully, this gives the late Mr. Castro’s family some closure, and it is always an honor and a privilege to serve the People of Guam.”

Defendant Palacios faces a lifetime in jail, with possibility of parole after 15 years. Sentencing is scheduled for February 24, 2021 at 9:30 am before Judge Vernon P. Perez.
