Court Sentences Efotomwar Ezra Nine Months For Knife Attack

October 20, 2022 – Tamuning, Guam- Judge Alberto E. Tolentino sentenced Efotomwar Ezra today to nine months imprisonment, all but 60 days suspended, for slashing his victim with a knife and causing a on 1 inch cut on the victim’s arm and neck. The defendant was given credit for time served and will not spend any additional days in prison.

Assistant Attorney General Katie Nepton argued for the maximum of three years under the terms of the plea agreement, which convicted Ezra of Aggravated Assault as a Third Degree Felony.

Court documents state that the brakes on the victim’s car failed, causing it to careen over a curb and strike a stairwell of an apartment building. Tenants of the apartment came out and began jumping on the hood of his car, followed by the defendant wielding a knife. The victim grabbed a baseball bat to defend himself.

The victim was informed of the terms of the plea agreement and chose not to provide input at the sentencing hearing, noting his desire for the case to come to an end.
