AG Camacho joins other territories in recall request of respirator products for their consumers

January 21, 2022- Tamuning, Guam- Attorney General Leevin Taitano Camacho has joined a coalition of attorneys general from the United States territories asking Philips Respironics to ensure that their consumers are included in the recent voluntary recall of CPAP and BiPAP respirator products. Recent plans developed by the company, with oversight from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), to replace defective devices included all 50 states, Puerto Rico, and the District of Columbia, but left out American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, and the Virgin Islands.

Attorneys General Edward Manibusan, Leevin T. Camacho, Fainu’ulelei Ala’ilimia-Utu, and Denise N. George also penned a letter to FDA Director of Intergovernmental Affairs, Office of the Commissioner, Nicholas Alexander for support and assistance to clarify the approved recall, and to take action to ensure that all US Territories are included.
