20-year sentence for armed robber

The Superior Court sentenced Dennis Aldan to 20 years’ incarceration today after a jury convicted him of robbery and several other felony charges back in April.

Aldan and his co-conspirator used a pellet gun to rob the Papa Johns in Mangilao before going to Dededo and robbing the Loco Mart. Thanks to quick thinking by an employee of Papa Johns, the Guam Police Department was able to track down the vehicle used in both crimes.

Prosecutor Christine Tenorio said, “Armed robbery of innocent employees trying to a make living is a reprehensible offense. The sentence was warranted given his extensive criminal history and the fact that he had just been released on a felony approximately three weeks earlier.”

“With this sentence, the community will be a little safer for the next 20 years. The People hope that this sentence will provide the victims some peace of mind after the traumatic ordeal they went through,” she finished.

Former Assistant Attorney General Jeremiah Luther prosecuted the case.
